Contact lenses have several benefits over glasses. They’re the perfect solution for anyone who’s ever been frustrated by glasses.
You won’t lose them behind the couch, or sit on them accidentally. There’s no need to worry about whether they complement your look, whether they’ll get steamed up as soon as it starts raining, or if they’ll get damaged while you’re playing your favorite sport.
For many people, contacts are the more comfortable everyday choice. For others, they are occasional. Whatever your needs, we’ll support you in finding the right lenses for your lifestyle, preferences, and prescription.
What’s involved in contact lens fitting?
When it comes to wearing contacts, a good fit is everything. A contact lens fitting is where we ensure your lenses are a perfect fit for your eyes. It’s an important part of the process because it helps ensure you’ll enjoy the full benefits of contact lens-wearing without discomfort.
If you haven’t had an eye exam recently, we’ll first carry one out to check your overall eye health.
We can help you choose a type that suits your lifestyle. We’ll talk you through the different types of lenses, including daily disposable, monthly disposable, or continuous-wear lenses. If you’re busy and always on the go, daily disposables can work well because you don’t need to worry about storing and cleaning them every day.
We’ll show you how to insert and remove the lenses and check you’re happy with the fit and comfort. We’ll also check that your vision is crystal clear while you’re wearing them.
During your contact lens fitting, our primary goal will be to ensure you’re completely happy with your new lenses and that you love wearing them.
What’s the minimum age for contact lens fitting?
We offer contact lens fitting for patients from the age of 8 years old. When we’re working with children, we also work closely with parents or guardians to ensure contact lenses are the right option, and that the child is mature enough to manage and care for their lenses correctly.
